Textiles

Meredith's work involving textiles/fibers will generally vary, depending on her mood and the color of the sky, but her regular foci are hand-quilting, twine-twisting, and crocheting.

She says:

No matter how much I branch out into different art mediums, I always seem to come back to textiles, time and time again. There's just something about the feel of the fabric and yarn, and the usefulness of the end product, that really fill me with joy and satisfaction! Perhaps it is in my genes... both of my grandmothers enjoyed quilting and crocheting as well. I will always treasure my Grandmama Mildred's crochet lessons and my Grandmother Beulah's sewing lessons! I miss them dearly and feel close to them -- and to my Appalachian Tennessee heritage -- when I dabble in textiles.
